There is really no need for them right now, I'm not a mod or admin or anything but I just don't see a need for something like blogs or anything with our small amount of active members.
Maybe in a year or so when we have at least 3000 or more.

Blogs often lead to a lot of drama, so I'm not entirely too keen on the idea... We have profiles for storing ideas/feelings/news; the people important to you will see it that way and it gets rid of the potential for blog trolls.

Ideas/feelings/news/whatnot also happens quite frequently in our posts, does it not? I don't feel that we really need blogs when we already have other mediums to express our views... That's up for the staff to decide though, of course.

Well i know blogs are material here.But what about announcements?
Like important announcements?Like for example,If your feeling that your leaving this site or doing something or being inactive etc,and besides,blogs are like folders.its like putting ideas on the blogs for any important news or stuff.

dont even bring such a black hole of absolute drama emo filledness for members to even remotely do. NP was completely overrun by noobs and their attention seeking ways.

As for leaving/inactivity, if the need calls for it I'm sure a thread will be established. Alternatively, you could change your avy/sig set as I have seen Pac do on occasion to announce the time you will be gone, "On Vacation" (or whatever the reasoning may be).

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by important news, especially since blogs are just geared towards a person's friends, which could also easily be handled on profiles. As for news that actually are 'news worthy', so to speak, a thread could suffice if it is practical.

Seeing how blogs have evolved on NP, it seems that it is mostly used as a medium to complain/mope/be depressed or argue about something. I think PSWorlds would be better off (not to mention cleaner) if we didn't incorporate something like blogs.

There is also the issue of activity, as toxicair mentioned above. The staff are going to be tweaking the site here and there and adding onto it when necessary... I think it would be better to conserve resources to improve the site in other areas first.

I also find that if you add to much at the birth of a forum it doesn't really attract as much people as you would think, it would be better to grow and evolve with the forum instead of people trying out all the new features, doing things as a community communicating and such.

On another forum I'm on, they only let certain people blog.
And the blogs are like news articles they write themself, about recent events (Sport)

I think that's a good idea, but many people wouldn't know about the news unless they saw it on TV (or stole it off the internet)
